1. Don't like them anymore
2. Don't want them to be viewed anymore (but still want them on the site for myself), or
3. Feel that people hiring through Forrst won't appreciate them.
As of now, the only way to hide posts are to 'unpublish' them and leave it as a draft or delete the post all together. Although unpublishing is essentially doing the job, it's not good enough.
My idea of archived posts on Forrst would be like a blog archive.
1. Categorized by tag, date, or type (snap, question, etc)
2. Searchable within your own archive (not the main search bar; unless in the search bar its "Archive: search term")
3. Able to make the archive available to the whole Forrst community or just you. </p>Jaylintag:forrst.uservoice.com,2008-02-07:Event/99808012011-10-09T18:16:19+02:002011-10-09T18:16:19+02:00Replace 'Markdown' with 'Some html allowed' [updated]<p>Really, markdown is weird, I don't want to learn yet another programming language. The way I propose it should work, is that when you edit a post, you have the option to list it as a new version. It shows up in the posts list as if it were a new post. On the post details page, you have the option to view each version. Also maybe comments could be separated for each version. Also everyone who comments/likes it should be notified when a new version is created.
The whole point of this, is that its easier to find each version, see the differences, and remove all the posts with "Version X" at the end.</p>Nathaniel Higginstag:forrst.uservoice.com,2008-02-07:Event/96993932011-09-03T17:03:58+02:002011-09-03T17:03:58+02:00remove/hide supporter badge [updated]<p>i'd rather not show i'm a supporter</p><p>Nathaniel Higgins said:<br /><div class="typeset"><p>Why...</p></div></p>Nathaniel Higginstag:forrst.uservoice.com,2008-02-07:Event/96787352011-08-31T20:31:15+02:002011-08-31T20:31:15+02:00Set the "Homepage" for each account [is now completed]<p>Whenever I am brought to Forrst, I always see my friend's feed, which is fine but not what I am always most interested in. - Total Likes a user has [on all of their posts/comments - perhaps split into total_liked_comments/total_liked_posts]
- Total comments on all user's posts
- Total helpful comments
- Total starred comments
- Total invites remaining
- Total invited members [and then their IDs?]
- Reputation percentile. This is visible in the directory, so no reason we can't have access to it through the API.
When authorising a user, can you return that user's ID. There is no way to do an API search for a user based off their email, so you can't auth based on email & then pull a user's details with that same email address [that I can see].
Can we have access to a notifications API - authorised of course! - where you get total notifications then a list of the notifications:
- URL
- Name
- By [user id]
- Time
- Dismiss URL [this will make the notification disappear if visited through this URL]
Just some ideas for now! :)

Please could the 'post_views' be included.</p>Matttag:forrst.uservoice.com,2008-02-07:Event/92726372011-08-01T12:37:42+02:002011-08-01T12:37:42+02:00keep form data saved on leaving page by mistake<p>prisca suggested:<br />This has been driving me mad and causing me to leave less comments...
It has been happening mainly due to me jumping around various apps etc. I start typing a comment, email arrives - I quickly go to check it - coming back to my comment - I might by mistake (with the mighty mouse) swipe and be taken back a page - on returning to the page I started to comment on - the comment box is now empty :(
This happens occasionally on other sites as well - and the comment is usually still saved and I could carry on. But on Forrst - I lose all my input... this has now resulted in quite a lot of comments not being submitted as I don't always have the time to start again and type it all out from scratch...
just a thought ;)</p>priscatag:forrst.uservoice.com,2008-02-07:Event/92707992011-08-01T09:09:06+02:002011-08-01T09:09:06+02:00Include width and height on post images for better endless scroll<p>Jim suggested:<br />Currently post images do not include a width and height, so it seems like posts are triggered as seen while images are still loading and as the images load they are pushed down out of view. When navigating away from the page and returning, the endless scroll begins at a post too far down (on the iPad) because of this.
I suggest two easy solutions in order of difficulty:
1. When a user clicks to view a complete post, register the post ID and upon return to the posts view start from that post on.
2. Define the correct width and height on the images so that the space for the images is already reserved upon a page load.
Thanks!</p>Jimtag:forrst.uservoice.com,2008-02-07:Event/90785212011-07-20T11:51:34+02:002011-07-20T11:51:34+02:00Allowing more 'personal' posts (filtered of course)<p>Anonymous suggested:<br />I just created a post asking if anyone had a Dribbble invite and was kindly advised by a Forrst member that it is against the guidelines (after a quick check I saw that it is in the additional section/updates of the guidelines and deleted the post myself).
I understand where you guys are coming from and I really think they are onto something great (I don't think dribbble or any other site offers as much as what Forrst does in terms of feedback, thoughtful and constructive criticism as well as thought provoking questions).
However, some of the guidelines I think prevent the community from becoming as close-knit as it could be (by restricting what can and can't be spoken about). Meetups are a great idea, but far and few between.
I have added a few people on Forrst and have had some help from others (and hopefully helped others) but I literally know nothing about the other people except for they are designers and/or developers.
I can see the difficulties/issue of not wanting to fill the site with useless junk (which a lot of sites do) but I think by pointing members in the opposite direction, it takes away that "need" to go on Forrst.
I am a member of other communities that I check almost religiously, but unless I get a Forrst notification, I forget to come on here.
I am wondering what your thoughts are of allowing people to post with a relaxed set of guidelines (still prohibiting spammy and junk comments) where people can talk about other interests they may have. These posts would only be allowed to be seen by the community (non-public) and would also have a filter setting ('off' by default) which allow users to choose whether they see the 'personal' or 'informal' posts?</p>Anonymoustag:forrst.uservoice.com,2008-02-07:Event/89689952011-07-14T07:25:03+02:002011-07-14T07:25:03+02:00don't auto-link "@font-face"<p>Kailey Lampert suggested:<br />detect when "@font-face" appears in a post/comment and don't auto-link the "@font" part. </p>Kailey Lampert
